ever thought of using a library rather than google? Strangely they still do have their uses (like having reliable nformation in them)!

Alfie-many thanks sir! Hope all is well with you in the world of stress! To voice of reason-I work for a living and would love the opportunity of spending time in a library-I too could pretend that I`m clever then too.If you have nothing constructive to offer, don`t bother, plenty of grown-ups need this space to discuss grown up thingies. As it happens, asking colleagues in the profession through BAJR is healthy, productive and, well grown up frankly. Thank you Alfie, my ditch makes more sense now (thats a hole in the dirt to you Mr reason.....)
By the way, next time you`re in a library Mr reason, look up the spelling for the word information...

Actually does anyone know of web-sites of Samian potters marks? Yes I also know about libraries but a faster reference would be handy.

try
http://www.potsherd.com as a start-not that good and bloody frustrating but has useful links. Publications on the subject tend to be excavation specific or indeed regional.....

Sorry about the delay mein host and others for links. Unfortunately no joy. Mind you stamps are highly abraded so interpretation of letters may be dodgy. Once again thanks to all.
