Ah, the old Marshalltown. Agree with comments about sections done with the marsh. We used to sharpen one edge with a file-removes those annoying roots hanging out of sections and doesn't smear, or encourage chunks of section to fall at your feet. Mind you, I broke my first one trying to displace a stone. So... be generous, have one each, live it up, you know you owe it to yourself. Or is that a nervous break down?

Digger, you weren't trained across the pond were you? We were taught to sharpen them at my field school, and had to have a file on hand for the purpose. Mind you I haven't sharpened mine since I was tempted to gut a former boss and didn't have a knife to hand.

Yeah, those strange evenings sitting around the campfire listening to the coyotes howl, sharpening your trowel. No wonder we have a reputation, Merc!

Way way over the pond Merc. Think long summers and tropical storms! Was on a site were the director provided a file for all to use!

Greetings Ian-trust you are well sir.
Not wishing to burst into rant mode but...
I want my soddin proper WHS trowels back!!! Not only that, how much more Ronald Macdonald crud are we willing to absorb? The Marshaltown flies nicely I grant you (whats wiv the rounded tip tho?) but-tiz only of any real use as an ice-cream flicker at parties.Come on-British WHS of the old and proper standards pleeeeeeeze. Not willing to put money in the pockets of those on the dirtier side of the pond either.
I did manage to find an old and very sexy WHS-tiz chained to my appendages.

Bloody hell Troll! How can you politicize trowels? It's a tool. The fact that it is an American company is entirely incidental. And I've managed to miss the insidious and overwhelming marketing campaign designed to make us give up our traditional trowels in favour of the new shiny American Marshalltown that is
taking over the world. Even my anti-Americanism only extends so far.

agreed - its not politics, but we do support British made tools all the way - we are in Sheffield so it is very personal here!
However, as we are called "get a trowel" - we want to offer more than just one (:
We will sell Battifero too (no worries about the Italian economy dominated any time soon though), as well as leaf and squares, etc; but the WHS will always be pride of place and the tool that we market and push. Any other suggestions?
