The conference was great and the 80 shillings was a highlight as was the diggers forum, top notch. However, the dinner was the most horrible menu ever produced by man or woman. Beef stroganoff my Arse! Was it cat or was it dog. The rice looked like it had hung around since the last IFA conference. Perhaps as we archaeologist are underpaid they thought that it would seem amazing. As for the vegetarian option well cow and pat come to mind but then I believe thats what you veggies eat anyhow. Also the nibbles at the wine reception seemed to get scoffed by the academic greedy types.
Pay and conditions! Pay and conditions get yer food sorted first IFA.

I thought that Stroganoff was dodgy too. The Chicken on Thursday was much better. There were proper munchies at the Wine Reception??? I got there half an hour late and only saw a couple of nachos - the rest must have all gone by then.

Munchies? at the wine receptions?? Hmmm... Pubs are always good. But forced to mix drinks at party as Best ran out, followed by 80 then Budvar. Obviously not primed for archaeological appetites.

Went to a day's training for work recently - lunch was a buffet of triangle sandwiches with the crusts cut off, and a huge serving plate of chips. A bit strange I thought.. maybe its just me....
