Are there such things as waterproof trousers that last longer than a week? If theres one thing guaranteed to ruin your day its the death of yet another set of (insert camping shop with name resembling bird seed)all-weather jobbies when its raining. Have tried allsorts!

Ah..... these winter warming hand gel pouch things.... keeps yer bits warm too!
It has got very very cold up here... back out in field tommorrow... stocked up on these self activated heat pads... why did I never use them before?

Try British Army Gortex trousers. Double skinned knees, zipped legs and heavy duty gortex. Can be repaired with neoprene/wetsuit glue or even better surfboard ding repair glue (flexible and waterproof). Recommended.
