That is the point of the viewpoint article... that cash obsession can become greater than the memory of why we are archaeologists..

This is not to say we are not worth the wage...

However.. as one who has been in every school apart from Athens.. I fear you may be talking about something you don't actually know about..... but are rather guessing....

Archaeology is for all... as some one recently said (and this person is both academic and into volunteer archaeology) Its not rocket science.. to be an expert.. perhaps.. however.. lets not think that people cant get involved....
