Is anyone else having problems with a Get a Trowel order? I placed an order 10 days ago and the money has been taken, but I've heard nothing from them. I've e-mailed twice, without response, and their telephone message service is full so won't accept any new messages. I'm starting to worry that I'll never see my order, or my money, again....
Has anyone actually managed to get anything from them recently?

I think they have had trouble in the past with systems, though I know they will be able to sort it. (as they did in the past)
You will see your order.. of that I am sure.. (see a previous thread)

Thanks, that's slightly reassuring... It's the fact that you can't get hold of them that really started me worrying. Also, I've recommended them to first-year archaeology students needing trowels to go out and excavate with this summer, and I'd hate to think that none of them got their stuff either.
Anyway, cheers for that...

have jsut 'spoken' with Get-a-trowel... they have been a bit hectic last month and can now assure that all orders are in the post. They are now handing over to a dedicated individual the orders processing.. so less chance of things such as this.
phew... fear not taverna!

Thanks for that! You clearly have magical powers of communication...
It wasn't enough that I discovered my husband to have been using my beloved trowel of 20 seasons as... well, as a trowel, but the thought of not receiving my super deluxe replacement before I went out on fieldwork this summer was just too much to bear...
Cheers!

Similar situation here Taverna. The delivery time to Australia is not unexpected, however the lack of communication is worrying.

How long have you been waiting for your order?
I still haven't received my items, still can't leave a telephone message, and still haven't had a reply to my e-mail messages. There's nothing but complete silence from Get a Trowel, and I need my order soon because I'm heading off to Greece on fieldwork. If I'm not going to get my stuff before I go, then I'd rather just cancel and buy elsewhere, but if they don't answer any correspondance then that's not even an option!

My transaction was processes on April 16, and I would have expected delivery to Australia by now given the postage cost. My first email to Get A Trowel was 10 days ago with no answer, my latest yesterday. Since you are having problems too I think I will give them 48 hrs to reply then ring my credit card company and Paypal and try to cancel the transaction and get a refund.
You are entirely correct Taverna, regardless of what problems Get A Trowel is having, this lack of communication is entirely unprofessional and shows no respect for the client's needs.
Will post here if I learn anything.
Good Luck

Absolutely. In their present state, I wouldn't recommend that anyone order from them and have advised all my students who needed trowels to go elsewhere. I also hope that any BAJR members who are reading this topic don't order anything until they have sorted themselves out. I really commend the idea behind Get A Trowel (the reason I ordered from them in the first place), but this is desperate.
Is there anyone out there in Get A Trowel land?!?!
