I thought you may be interested to note the new advert for Albion have gone on at £15,153 - £18,430.
£15,153 reflects entry level and so is essentially a training post - with careeer progression to the next level up.
The top end of the post (£16,536 - £18,430) represents an experienced digger who is able to work independently, look after a small area of site, perhaps working towards supervisory level.
Could this be the start? worth thinking about :face-huh:

I also saw the words "permanent contract" and "assist with re-location".
Hmmmm, I've seen films like this. Where's the catch? Do you have to sign anything in blood and do they then own your soul?..... or has someone realised that archaeology is a proper job?!?!

Looks like county council hours / holidays, sick pay and pensions too! They deserve to get the pick of the crop of experienced diggers around at the moment.

or are they just hoping to get as many CVs as possible, and cherry pick the most experienced diggers, who they will pay the bottom line wage?

Of course, if they did that... the diggers would get in touch with me and let me know... Albion would never be trusted again, and result... catastroph...
so I expect that the cynical button need not be pressed - highly unlikely...

Errmmm. Albions is a County Council unit. IFA/BAJR minimum wages are based on the County Council pay rates? Some Councils are about to do cross comparisons of wages to get their archeology units inline with what the others (Council units) are paying and yes they realise that means pay increases.mmmmm
Looks like the minima is about to shift.
