This building is now listed. The developer now says that they never intended to demolish, just 'make safe'.

What by taking off the roof tiles? I hear that pigeons and rain water contribute greatly to the structural integrity of buildings. Next it'll be mysterious fires in listed buildings assisting in their contribution to the built environment...

Nah - I thought Listed Buildings only burn down in European Cities of Culture that loudly proclaim their pride in their heritage (Glasgow, Liverpool...). What an embarrassing and ironic coincidence that always is.
