set up the group.. then use the invite (on the left hand menu)

Woah, cheers! The Durham one's definately right

I think it I'll hang fire for a week before contacting them. It will give chance to get the group a little more developed in terms of building up resources and determining what the group can offer. I'll definately get it done before the Uni's go back - that way we can be sure there will be someone active within the societies to get the message, and they can shout about it during Fresher's week.

I also think that a Student group is an excellent idea. Especially if it broadens the old 'Starting -up in Archaeology' forum into the more mainstream BAJR agenda.

If it's any help Pip, we are thinking along similar lines to try and help Norwegian archaeology students section on our Norwegian 'arkeologiforum.no' web page. We would be happy to share ideas....

Thanks for the support Kevin, and yes, that was my thinking behind it.

It would be a great idea to work in partnership that way, bounce ideas about a bit and see what works. Just as you said in the working abroad group, studying abroad also varies between countries, and hopefully we could form some sort of network for gaining overseas excavation experience.

DEfinately a GIS and Digital Archaeology... theres a lot of it about..

A Curators group would be great... though if I may suggest.. it would be best a closed group with membership by invite only :face-angel:

would period-based groups be of interest? id certainly like to be part of group of medieval fanatics where relevant sites/fieldwork can be discussed?

id be happy to set a medieval group up!

In that case, you are now appointed Medieval group! this is the thing... you like.. you set up your own group, can have discussions, upload files, photos and video and more... that does not get mixed up with other groups... however... you may then pop across to the Ceramics Group (coming soon!) and ask about Medieval pottery (or visa versa)

I have to say, that since creating it, I never realised what it could do... I am slightly scared.. brilliant!
