I am more than happy to forward and advise about various worker rights and entitlements available. Not to sure how to organise this Mr Hosty and it seems to be an area that short term contract workers need to know about.
Apparently if you leave your job voluntarily and the job you are going to gets postponed you can still sign on by having your case reviewed.
Should we have a seperate problems area were those in the know can contribute?

Not really relevant but... Last time I was on the dole archaeologist wasn't actually in their computer system and they had to put me down as a non specific engineer - which means you have to explain it every time you sign on. So then you have to use the job centre search engine every other week to prove that you're looking for a job, but for us their job search engine is useless. Again not in any category and archaeology companies don't advertise vancancies there or in the papers - some don't advertise at all in fact (even on Bajr). Then you select all your little criteria on the job search engine and wait to be told at the last page that there aren't any available.

I was a social science researcher, according to my local Jobcentre.

We existed in my local job centre when I signed on during the summer. Though it took them a while to find!

Cardiff as bad - i had to spell archaeologist for them so they could put it in the system - then i got a phone call saying they'd found me a job. Unfortunately it was an an ecologist studying foxes on a scottish island!
Not much use but at least they tried! BLess em! [:I]
