Aye, but depends on the contract with the client I guess....although I've come across many construction crews/companies doing the same.

Have talked to loads of construction guys over the years about this and half of them seem to spend most of their time getting stressed about where they can park the caravan etc etc, plus there's the inconvenience of having all your stuff nicked all the time. The ones living in accom. blocks on the job usually seem most chilled, and they're usually s***e! I've seen what plenty of places are like that diggers have sorted for themselves to 'save some money', no wonder a lot of them are quite so b****y miserable. Lot easier and usually makes for a better atmosphere in my experience if the employer sorts something decent for everyone - although actually camping on site was always the best for a fun social life

I would gladly live in a tent on site, I would do anything just for a job right now even if it meant living in a tent, id work happily for minimum wage just for the privilege of having a job.

I disagree Jack. If you told a manager that you would happily work for mimimum wage and live in a tent and consider it a privilige, then of course they are not going to be interested in improving conditions: the workforce is not clearly not bothered about improving their lot.
