Is there a bar in the site hut? Or can this be it?

Didn’t most revolutions start in a bar somewhere or at least in a room with a few drinks?
Where they end is another matter

Ken Denham Wrote:Fine, UK archaeology is in terminal decline and all we seem to discuss is fart arsed crap. Why shouldn't one thread on this site be a little light-hearted? (and judging by the number of posts it's one of the more popular ones....) Anyway, month-on-month for the last 6 or 7, tenders seem to be steadily creeping upwards (and not just here), so I don't think UK Archaeology can exactly be described as on its last legs, merely convalescing, and I'll have a drink to that, lemon gin anyone? :face-approve:

Any kind of gin, please. Just feeling a very LARGE amount of grumpy, as my step-father passed away last night and I'm pretty peeved about the whole thing.
Make that a double gin, thanks. And hold the lemon, I'd like a lime instead.

Thanks. He was a great guy, and patient with everyone, especially my mother who did a great imitation of Joan Crawford on occasion. Gin and hug much appreciated.

Let us all raise a real glass to him... and bless him on his way.

Thanks. We've toasted him tonight already, he was a gin-drinker so he'd feel right at home here. He's far better off now, cancer is no respecter of human dignity.
Now that I've cast a gloom over the bar, perhaps we can have something good on the jukebox?

So sorry to hear about your step father. A great big BAJR and Past Horizons toast to him... I'm drinking rum and coke in the absence of gin.
