A case would be a good start...and I do not mean the suit variety!!
Lovely to meet you too! Kindred spirit I think...now what was all that advice about not meeting people from internet Forums???
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Merlot in one hand, Cigar in the other; body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO, what a ride!

Definitely a kindred spirit.
I think that advice about meeting people from forums is meant for when you've been enticed and offered drinks and small gifts... erm... oh, right.

Hope your first day went well! We spent some time looking at properties up near the Wall, wishful thinking but it's better than not thinking at all.

Recognise a few...luckily I was not there at the time, nor my mate Eddie, as some of the digging "postures" would not be allowed!!!:0
But it is the same hole in the ground at the beginning of the season. Makes me feel all nostalgic...<<sigh>>
Su - I found a lovely farm with a Reiver castle...too many ??? and a bit too far away from the Wall, but nice window shopping while the sun was out and Northumbria looked the most beautiful place on the planet. <<another sigh>>
I am in danger of getting maudlin...survived my first day, including the two hours driving which is all a bit of a shock to the system...don't think my pooch is speaking to me though:0

I need a drink or ten before setting off to bed! First day of high school tomorrow for the last chick in the nest.
Make it a double with a double chaser.
Deadly, not a real castle? Did they have those back then? I had a look today online at various places and thought about how much the boat would sell for as a down-payment on a place near the Wall. I think I could just about afford that... a wall. No roof, though. Just a wall.

Now who was it talking about castles (in Ireland I think)...more of a fortified homestead than a castle, but they tend to look like castle keeps without the motte and bailey!
Exhausted...getting used to the hour commute on each end of the day, and only I could arrange a new contract to start when the Great Dorset Steam Fair AND the Salisbury Races are on the same day...need a large alcoholic something or other...xx(

That's a pain of a commute, Deadly. I felt your pain last year but managed to avoid the Steam Fair this year! Take the weight off yer slingback steelies and I'll fetch you something restorative.
