This would have to be something everyone would contribute to... a wiki (ish) type system. (can't stand wiki myself!) It is too complicated... but will look for an easy to update WYSIWYG system with image upload etc... could cost a bit to create and maintain (c. 50 quid a month is the cheapest I can find and thats just the basics). However I will look at this seriously.

I would also like to see a system for DC archs as well... so trowelmonkey... thanks for lurking and thanks for popping up to say hello.. plus come up with a real forward thinking idea.

I think Trowelmonkey has had a ruddy good idea. It'd certainly save the agony of choosing the person least likely to think you are a pillock when you have a daft question

The thing which bugs me most about off-the-shelf books, though, is the fact that the bulk of the photos are black and white! Good for detail, but not great when you are trying to identify something in the first place! Pottery ID being the main example.

Even if nothing fancy is planned we could always post questions (and photos?) on here!

Hey, this is pretty good! It's a bit empty at the mo but if it's something which is ongoing it'll be good. Could do with a few more piccies, but there are some fab images of dental calculus! [:0]

Angi, there's almost no such thing as a dafty question Every time you change site it's taking at least half a step back. I first picked up a trowel in the early nineties and am still asking wtf questions. For one thing it shows that you're interested and it's a great way to build up a professional rapport. It's fine to be known as the creepy-yet-lovable site pervert in the tea hut but even better if you gain a rep in the office as creepy-yet-lovable site pervert with a keen interest in actually understanding what you're doing (that makes it more likely that they'll invest time in you). That only happens by talking.
