Model resolution for use in Trade Union branches / Student unions / campaign groups: Feel free to edit this however you see fit. Peopleâs Assembly Against Austerity [insert name of organisation] supports the September 2012 TUC Congress resolution, that âthe trade union movement must continue leading from the front against this uncaring government with a coalition of resistance taking co-ordinated action where possible with far-reaching campaigns including the consideration and practicalities of a general strike.â In support of the aims of this resolution a number of Trade Union General Secretaries and anti-cuts organisations have supported the call for a Peopleâs Assembly Against Austerity that aspires to build a movement for social justice and develop a strategy for resistance to mobilise millions of people, through trade unions and local community organisations, against the ConDem government. The Assembly will provide a national forum to develop links between trade unions, trade union councils and grassroots community based campaigns, and to build confidence of those promoting anti-austerity views which, whilst increasingly popular, are barely represented in Parliament. [insert name of organisation] agrees to support the call for the Peopleâs Assembly at Central Hall Westminster on Saturday 22 June 2013 and send [x] delegates.
