Frivolous thread for the weekend: As I understand it, Permatrace is plastic-based (polyester I think). so why does it smell like dead fish when it's wet? anyone know?
Got them 'ol Pipeline blues agin'...

I have no idea why, but it's not pleasant! Especially in closed Portacabins.

never used to - in fact it used to be a pleasamt odour. I suspect they have taken out the toxic substance which stopped it smelling

I am not sure what chemicals are involved but I remember being told that drawing film is 'surface treated' so as to make it durable, waterproof and eraser friendly. I guess getting it wet, releases the residual mixture.
Thought for the day: Could it actually be that fish smell like permatrace rather than the other way round?

I was told that it was made from fish scales, don't remember who told me it or if it is actually true though...
