Hello all,
I've been asked by some people overseas how to get onto digs in the UK. Could anyone recommend specific projects that welcome foreigners (English speaking), and do high quality work on interesting sites?
Ta,
Tom

I heard YAT had a volunteer programme at their big dig in York. Probably about the best archaeology the UK has to offer, if it live up to Coppergate.

YAT are offering opportunities for York area residents to be involved in their 'big dig' by hosting a community archaeology project at the Dig Hungate site.

Hungate is also hosting the YAT annual summer training excavation "Archaeology Live!" in 2007 (1 week left) and in 2008.
Other training is also available on Dig Hungate throughout the year in the form of One to One Mentoring courses and taster days.
