The idea of posting a Poll is to attempt to produce a consensus of opinion, but the numbers who actually do vote very rarely makes more than 10% of the members-and are often much less.
So my question is this- how effective, representative or informative are polls if so few people vote?

You haven't got an option for 'ulitimately pointless, but might prove fun and potenially interesting', although I suppose that could be the first one.
In fact, I might adopt that as my motto for life... seems apt given some of the threads in this part of the foum.

sad but true..
10% is quite good!
I would be happy with 5%
There are many that look.. (I was amazed last night at a Meeting, to find all these high up folks use the forum, but never speak.. do not even log in ) they all keep an eye on BAJR.. and recently have been using info about the Druid reburial stuff..

so the influence is there... just the typing is not..

My apologies if anyone tried to vote just after I posted this last night, it locked itself the moment I pressed 'post' due to an increase of ionization in the upper atmosphere due to sun spot activity![:I]

10% would be great, but unfortunately it wouldn't be either a random or representative sample. They would represent the 10% of BAJR members most likely to vote in polls.

How about sticking featured polls on the view jobs page? Didn't it used to be like that, or am a hallucinating?

There, I've voted too. I note, however, that you don't have an option for "voting is useless because all the decisions will be made by faceless consultants".
