Know this is rather more historical than archaeological, but i'm an archaeologist not an historian.
Does anyone know if there is a more recent translation available of Gildas' Ruin of Britain than the J.A. Giles one from 150 years ago?

found this....by a guy called michael winterbottom (i kid you not) in 1978

rather embaressed i missed that on my amazon search.
i'll look that one up in the library; at least i won't forget the name! I did find it hard to believe that in 150 years noone else had wanted to have a go at translating it again
