Good idea Troll, if we can speak to one of the universities and perhaps use their space during the summer break, and then send out a call for papers! I'm in mate!!

We have been thinking for a while thaty a conference looking at the state of heritage protection would be a good idea - maybe we could combine the two?

I would actually be in favour of this... I would also like to see the IFA Digers GRoup invited, as well as members of Rescue and the CBA. But more definitively a conference for Heritage Workers to air and discuss "The future of the past". Any ideas for a central location and anyone wants to take this on... may I suggest a September conference ?? To give plenty of time to organise.
Another day another WSI?

A midlands venue perhaps? Is September enough notice? How can we ensure a high turnout across the sector? I would be more than willing to make some venue enquiries if you all feel that the Midlands is central enough? I agree with Mr Hosty- ALL WELCOME.

The real centre of the British Isles is North Yorkshire :o)
I'm still up for helping out. I'm not an archaeologist but as I see it, without decent T's and C's for archaeologists my campaigns will always be disabled.

Thinkiing of logistics.... York is on the Main Line and is pretty damn central to all... giving everyone a fair shout at getting there. (N Yorkshire may indeed be the omphalos!)
We should look at funding potentail... from York Uni costs...
perhaps looking at a time when students are not there and so accomodation is available?
Does anyone know wether people like EH or HS...or CADW would be able to fund this? what about HLF funding?
I am happy to move on this one.... go troll go Deep.
