Well its up to you ... are you with me? or shall we keep on going down... this is for digger and director... consultant and contractor .
If we don't do something right now... and that means RIGHT NOW... where the hell will we go?
With nobody with more than a few years of experience left to move forward and train, with no hope for a decent career.. we will lose it all... no respect.. no hope. Well I am not going to stand by and grumble...
Will you help me or just watch... with no help... you may as well see your career as
University.... Digger.. er...... thats it!

On a serious note i completely agree with you i think we as a proffession are hurtling towards a huge skills gap and if something doesnt change ASAP then we're in big big trouble!

I think I have maybe another year in me before I give it all up if things don't change. But I don't want to throw away the last 14 years of my life and I don't want all my friends and associates to give up either...so yes, count me in. Whatever it is I'm signing up for!

Actually a chat with you would be good...
It is basicly a call to arms to agitate and get people into the unions... To see it as a positive step, and as trowel said to me last night.... why not introduce right from the start at Uni... at 50p a month... some you come into archaeology (commercial that is) as a unionised worker... and stop seeing it as what can it do for me, but what we can do for each other...
