When I was in Croatia I met a fab woman from Ulm in Germany... her claim to fame for the place was this... which she said with pride (I think), though admitted she had never visited.

Any others you know...? I tell you this takes you to strange places...! Did you know there are 13 Bread Museums in the world! Like the St Petersburg Museum of Bread which is the only one of this kind in Russia and one of thirteen in the world, was founded in 1988 within the Bread Production Trust.

I went to a museum in Turkministan which was a museum of a cotton factory... (not all cotton factories but this specific one) I think next time you pass the bubble car one.. don't resist!

The Japanese are good at these niche museums. I quite fancied the Instant Noodle Museum in Osaka, but my travelling companion couldn't be persuaded.

There are also some slightly more hedicational museums in Japan. A friend of mine went looking for the Penis Museum in Tokyo but couldn't find it. Having a quick Google, there seem to be a remarkable number of such establishments around the world.

When I was a kid I was taken to a horseshoe museum (I kid you not!) somewhere in England. Worryingly, I can remember being fascinated! Does this still exist?

Oh wow! Added to my 'to see' list - in the meantime will have to make do with the Shire book of Horseshoes (a surprisingly oft-quoted book in small-find reports, I've noticed....) :face-approve:
