On a completely pointless note the Fantasy Unit thread got me thinking in a Friday afternoon way about what football teams us BAJRites (perhaps unfortunately) follow.
Who are the team with most archaeological support?
I always sense that lower league teams are well represented amongst archaeologists? Is this correct?
What was peoples respective best moment of the season?
Ill see what sort of interest is and perhaps we can do some sort of BAJR fantasy football next season.
(PS I am interested in 'real' issues too but heh its Friday and im suffering end-of-season-itis).
For the record my team is Bristol Rovers, and my best moment this season was Sammy Igoe slotting home our third goal at the new wembley to take us up to League 1: mental!!

Tottenham Hotspur. Best moment, too many but maybe beating Chelski, or Berbatov's sublime free kick at West Ham.
Non-league: Enfield Town (Ryman League Div 1 North, 3rd place). Best moment: clinching a play-off spot. (Didn't go up though).
Adopted side: Huddersfield Town. Best moment: err, none really. Won 3-2 after being 2-0 down at half time but I've forgotten who it was.
We owe the dead nothing but the truth.

Sheffield Wednesday - Best moment Jermaine Johnson's goal at Leeds on the counter putting us 3-0 up! Or Mark Crossley's(yes the goalkeeper)last minute headed goal in 3-3 draw with Southampton (yes we Wednesdayites don't have that much to cheer about but it has been a good season!)

I might have said this before, but it's Pompey....
Actually Gumbo may have hit upon another subject of interest here. Do you have a team you support when you are away from home and/or/if the opportunity arises to watch another team or another level of football?
I have a sneaking soft spot at the moment for Sparta Sarpsborg (bottom of Norwegian Divison 2) who once upon a time were (kinda like Sheff Wed) a mighty mighty team.
I was also on the same Ryanair flight as Steffan Iversen the other day....

Sarpsborg.... the only thing they could win was the "egg cup"
My wife and I had Martin Andreason round not long ago (He the captain of the Norwegian National team) and comes from Kråkstad were I live. My wife and I made a large multimedia show and documentary on the 100year anniversary of our Athletics club (100 years is old in Norway and we are one of the oldest).
I used to live in a children's home in Wallasey and remember being taken to the Everton stadium and being shown around... meeting all the players and then at Christmas they would send us all a selection box. Later when I moved to NCH Frodsham, Bill Shankley would come and open up the fete day.... those were the days.

Birmingham City....best moment, not sacking Steve Bruce like many wanted and proving me right in my faith by getting us back at the first try, what a season the championship was, best league last season.
Also follow Inter Milan and Queen of the South.

The mighty Queens Park Rangers. Our last year (or so) has consisted of a season-long relegation battle, three different managers, a director who went off to become manager of Brazil, a chairman who was allegedly held up at gunpoint in his office and forced to resign, the murder of a youth team player, a mass brawl with the Chinese national team on television, and the arrest and dismissal of the assisstant manager. Oh yeah. And we're apparently 20 million pounds in debt to some company from Panama too. Come on your R's!!![xx(]
