Hi
It's been ages since I've popped in but thought you may be able to help with a question.... does anyone know what has happened to getatrowel? [?]
I ordered items totalling about £40 over 6 weeks ago and as yet no sign of them. I have tried and tried to contact getatrowel but no matter how (email, phone, contact form)I can get no response. I am becoming concerned as to what has happened to my order... and my money. Have I missed something? Are they no longer trading?
A friend ordered a trowel from the site at the start of August(ish) and received it within a week. Has something happened to the company since then? I'm confused.....:face-huh:
If someone, anyone could enlighten me I would be eternally grateful. I've ordered from the company in the past and received prompt service... I don't want to give up on them as I think they are a fab site.
Help!

Well all I can say is that they have glitches... and due to these glitches I have been forced to remove all support.
What they do now is basically up to them... I know they sometimes come a cropper.. though I should stress that as far as I am aware.. they are honest.. and will not have deliberately taken your cash.
BAJR now has a sister site - called Past Horizons - we supply trowels and lots lots more ! (our cupboards are bulging!)
This was set up to help with the trowel crisis... as in ... no trowels... or worse... the old snappable trowels still being in circulation... My wife has now taken the business over.. and it helps to run a free site that provides info on hundreds of archaeology sites across the world.. all free..
Keep trying with GAT... or cancel your order.. get your money back and get one with us. They were a good idea...and thats why I supported them.. such a pity about all these tales .
anyway ...

anyone know any more?

I have just found the old threads about the company and don't wish to start an argument with this thread. If the moderators want to remove my post then feel free.... but if anyone could offer some help or advice I'd be grateful.
I hope getatrowel isn't having the problams again that it seemed to be having earlier in the year... it is as others have said on the previous threads a great idea for a company and as such it is no surprise if it is a little over-run by enthusiastic buyers!
PLease don't think I'm trying to stir up an old dispute with this.... I genuinely didn't realise there had been previous locked threads on the subject [:I]

Ooops posted another reply before I saw yours...!
Excellent [8D] I'll take a look!
I noticed a hotmail addy mentioned in the previous posts.... do you think there's any point trying that? As a last resort.....:face-confused:
I'm off to take a browse at your site now...

Think we will leave this as it is then...
unless anyone has any useful information... rather than lock the thread I will let it sit.

stonegirl - don't know if this snippet is any use to you, but if you paid for your (as yet undelivered) trowel by credit card, try contacting your card issuer as they are jointly responsible in cases like this, where goods aren't delivered, or are faulty. No good if you paid by debit card (switch/maestro) though, you'll be on your own.

Well I'm just picking myself up off the floor as the order has finally arrived... I'm just glad it's finally here. I'm not going to go any further with this as it's not worth any more stress. I'll put it down to experience and won't be shopping with getatrowel again. I genuinely hope they do sort themselves out as they were a great idea to start with, but it would take some seriously good feedback from plenty of other customers to convince me to buy again....
Thanks everyone for the advice.
Phew...

very glad you got the trowel... it would have been a real shame.
as a matter of interest what is the thickness of the trowel blade?

It's not the thickness - it's what you do with it.
