Any big commercial jobs in Bavaria? |

I am moving back to the Heimat shortly as I can no longer afford to feed my need for Bier and kebap in the UK. I wonder if anyone on here knows of any big jobs in Bayern? Or can you recommend any units in the Munchen/Augsburg area?
I think that this is going to be my last shot as an archaeologist (as a professional anyway)if this does not work out. We put up with a lot for crappy wages, for the love of the job. My love is wearing a little thin.
Thanks in advance,
Keller
Just give me a cold Becks

Excavation with a BANG |

I found this request.... promised to pass it on.... what do you think??
I am a geophysicist who will be doing and excavation in the spring. I won't be looking for archaeology, but instead will be trying to understand naturally occuring magnetic anomalies to improve landmine and unexploded ordnance detection. I have identified the anomalies in magnetic datasets and modeled them to get an idea of their causes. Now I want to excavate a number of them one layer at a time to see the depth and extent of the soil causing the anomaly. What books or websites would you suggest I read in order to learn the proper procedures. Thanks.

Am I the only person who finds it incredibly frustrating that the Oxbow Books shop isn't open at weekends? So far, I have had no opportunity to browse what I have been assured is an amazing place... Maybe we should start a BAJR petition to get them to open on Saturdays! :face-huh:
I don't have a beard, a stripy jumper, or a tendency to drink vast quantities of beer... apparently I'm not a proper archaeologist

In 2008 RCAHMS will celebrate 100 years of building a picture of Scotland's past and we want to share our rich treasure store with you. The celebrations begin with the first ever public vote to choose the nation's favourite image of the most treasured places of Scotland.
100 images have been specially selected from the collections of RCAHMS and we would like you to vote for your favourite. You can also tell us about your own treasured place if it's not in our selection.
At the end of October 2007 a shortlist of the top ten images with the most votes will be revealed. These will then compete for votes throughout November and a winner will be announced in early December. The top ten images, with a selection of comments added during the vote, will feature in a major centenary exhibition at the Edinburgh City Art Centre from October 2008 to January 2009.
get voting :face-huh:
