work - northerner - 19th April 2011 Was just wondering if anyone knew if any of the summer digs (volunteer education type ones) were looking for any experienced archaeologists to help out for the summer? Seeing as I have been turned down for all the non-archaeology jobs I've applied to for lack of ''job stability in employment history'' I want to find something to do that doesnt entail me signing on and sleeping on my parents sofa! I know its a long shot but I'm pretty willing to try anything right now :-) Thanks! work - kevin wooldridge - 19th April 2011 Are you looking for paid or unpaid work? I can certainly give you some addresses of voluntary projects, but maybe that isn't what you want..... work - northerner - 19th April 2011 well Preferably paid but at the moment I'm interested in unpaid too! work - kevin wooldridge - 19th April 2011 Sorry I'll rephrase that. Would you be able to pay if it was a voluntary project with a fee involved? work - northerner - 19th April 2011 ah i see, no I wouldnt be able to pay! I was kind of hoping to find a project who might want a volunteer supervisor or something? work - jimbomobo - 19th April 2011 in what areas of the u.k. are you looking for volunteer work? work - northerner - 20th April 2011 ideally the north of england, so I can find friends sofas to sleep on lol! work - jimbomobo - 20th April 2011 lol. You're best bet (if you are looking for volunteer work) would be to check with the universities in the north. UCLAN and Hull come to mind. Have a look at their websites and look for some contact details for the Archaeology division. Hope it helps and good luck work - BAJR - 20th April 2011 For companies.. look here: http://www.bajr.org/WhoseWho/Contractor.asp and zoom in on the contractors map all the contact details you need. work - Unitof1 - 20th April 2011 in fact more than enough details I am sure |
