OK bearing in mind the date, this may be a complete wind-up, but.... there is an article in today's Sunday Times that suggests frequent exposure to a bacteria found in dirt makes you happier.

Recent research from the University of Leipzig also suggested that exposure to dirt is directly proportional to income in later life.

Not such a crazy idea after all, making the link between healthy immune system and mental wellbeing. Also the physical fitness gained while digging releases those endorphins ...... I know I feel better when out and about than sat behind a desk.
