keys, watches and especially steelies will all affect a magnetometer survey badly! i seem to remember titanium is ok as someone I know had an intimate piercing of titanium that did not affect magnetometry!, but you'll have to do a couple of sample squares and see!

G...Would that be a couple of sample squares of body piercing or site survey.....

I agree that titanium is unlikely to be a problem. But there is a simple test you can do to be sure. Get someone to hold the magnetometer steady in front of you and run it in scan mode. Then move your foot slowly towards the sensor (either at the top or bottom of the gradiometer tube) and see if the readings change significantly. If they do then you've got a problem. If not then you will probably be alright to survey.
The above applies to magnetometery. You might also encounter problems with EM instruments, but magnetic susceptibility, GPR and resistivity are all unaffected by metal fittings

Quite right a non-ferrous metal is unlikely to afect a magnetometer survey, but although I agree that a sample grid or two would be wise after doing the test John suggests, it might be easier (although less impressive) to move your foot near the lowermost sensor, especially if using a Barty. The top sensor could be a bit high, but it depends on your flexibility!
