It was useful to speak earlier today confirming our strategy for pay. It is very encouraging to know that BAJR is proposing this package of pay and conditions as an interim measure pending the benchmarking exercise that will establish what archaeological salaries should be. The IFA finds pressures of this sort from BAJR and others extremely useful if they encourage employers to exceed the IFA minima, and especially welcome if they help to pave the way for the significant pay increases the benchmarks will almost certainly require.
