Might I suggest that we set up a group that worships the property of people who damage historic sites - the main ritual is a once a week sacred burning of their sofa, or anything else considered suitable, complete with suitable costume wearing, chanting and invented ceremonies.

RedE Might I suggest that you cant burn the sofa as it might contain something of local or regional or national significance and should be scheduled until it can be excavated properly (when are we going to get our sonic screw drivers). Anyway by scheduling his sofa there is a good chance the he will go and burn it himself and save yourself the embarrassment of getting the wrong ceremony chant and hat. Cunning hay.

That is a much better solution, cunning and cost effective, although I suspect it would take a long time for the Scheduling to come through!

RE Your right not only is scheduling slow its also involves membership of the Knight Templers, the Salvation Army and you have to go to sessions with that bloke from formula one. But I think that there is a possible way round it. If you follow the film clip on this you will notice that the plod use the term Archaeological Offences.

It seems to me that along the lines of Citizens Arrest that we can go around doing Citizens Scheduling. This might not be instantaneous but on a A4 sheet of paper, a small location diagram showing where the place/object is and some reason like Its important and anyway there is bound to be some environmental evidence that will tell us something about the past (possible Doner kebab would perfect) And give it a number in case you do more than one Citizens Schedule a day although you could argue that the location is unique enough. I don?t think that you have to tell anyone special or put a sign up but presumably you have to send a copy to the current owner. Exactly the one we are after. A first class stamp will get it there on the same day as a second. Include a match.

Guerilla Scheduling! Top idea. I know what I'll be doing this weekend - pass me a balaclava and a clipboard.
