Hi all
I'm new to this site. I am a student and have a question regarding geophysical survey, as I have been offered a training day doing this.
I have 2 titanium screws in my foot and wanted to know if I can still learn how to carry out a geophysical survey.
Many thanks.

hi Beanie - welcome to the site - did you mean will the equipment pick up the titanium in your foot?

But I am a newbie.

You will be fine with resistivity. Its magnetomeetry where it could be an issue

I don't think it would be a problem. I'm sure i've done magnetometry surveys wearing steelies before now...... I can't remeber if the result were any good though.....:face-huh:

I dont really know what a 'titanium screw' is terms of how much titanium it contains, but surely pure titanium is non-magnetic so shouldn't affect a magnetometer survey

I just know it's classed as a surgical titanium screw and others at college wondered, as did I, if it would affect the results, but I believe it may be similar to what dentists use also.
Thanks very much for your help.
