Keep the hi-vi flying...
(with apologies to James Connell)
The archaeo's flag is a yellow hi-vi
Comrades always have to question why;
And ere their limbs grew stiff and cold
Their life-blood ebbed beneath its fold.
CHORUS:
Then raise the yellow standard high;
Beneath its folds we'll live and die,
Though builders flinch and engineers sneer,
We'll keep the hi-vi flying here.
Look 'round, Wessex folk love its blaze,
The sturdy Oxonian chants its praise;
In Brummies vaults its hymns are sung,
Sheffield swells its surging song.
It waved around our sorry plight
When all around seemed dark as night;
It witnessed growing IFA,
It will no longer go away.
With heads uncovered, at risk we all,
Lest something on our heads do fall;
Come trenches dark, or features grim,
This song shall be our parting hymn!
If anyone wants to improve on this then please go for it, I have to go back to work now!
