I have to say I dont agree with the sentiments being expressed about government intervention or statements like "So.....do the others not care ?" referring to people who did not sign the petition.
The petition calls for archaeology to be recognised as a profession fine and calls for better pay fine...
but statements like "generally without hope of sick leave or holiday pay." suggest that illegal employment in archaeology is rife.
As to how the state can promote "joint initiatives with geotech/architectural/development and heritage plans..." I fail to see how the state could do this or even what the benefit there would be.
