I strongly disagee about the wording.
It is ill informed and factually incorrect. This is prob the only occassion this decade that the PMs office will consider archaeologists pay.
So far this election all the issues I have been asked about are nothing do with the council concerned. Whenever I answer honestly that this is not something a district council can do people think I am just been evasive.
This petition will get the answer - a major triumph of the labour government has been the introduction of holidays for all and the minimum wage. This is not the response we want.
A better wording should have quoted what APPAG said about pay and conditions. It should also have stated the starting salary of a graduate archaeologist.
I suggest a briefing note from David in due course.
