I'll do it. Can't get much more Rescue Archaeology than that. There's a major (or something) in the US army in Iraq that basically does this sort of thing isn't there?
It'd have to be a case-by-case basis. There are some times when it's best for the archaeology to leave it all in the ground and wait for the trouble to blow over, even if there's looting going on (Cambodia, Northern Iraq, Mali).
Getting killed isn't really on my agenda either.
In another program, U.S. pilots have received training in recognizing and identifying ruins, cemeteries and other sites so they don't accidentally bomb them.
That's a nice development. You should see what they did to 'My Son' in Nam.
