Hi Arthus. Have you organised any pressure groups/ demanded meetings with local councillors or members of parliament/ raised petitions/ produced newsletters or protest pamphlets/ approached aboriginal groups to seek their opinions and mobilise their efforts etc? I'm sure you can't be alone in seeing the racism that surrounds you and surely you'll have more success with a group voice? Do you have aboriginal friends that would be willing to support you in your attempts to eradicate the problem?
I'm rather ignorant of Australian politics, but there must be mechanisms in place that can allow you to make a constructive, focused and public criticism of the social injustices you witness. Various North American Indian groups have been in similar positions and have quite successfully reclaimed dignity and pride in their cultures. That's not to say that racism is eradicated, of course, but Native/Aboriginal perceptions of themselves is important also. There is hope... :-)
