Fascinating Britarch Factoid..
This month there have been 306 posted emails on Britarch
300 of which 180 are about a coin collecting arguement between a few people.
the rest are made up of taking the p. out of a person asking about Brochs
a few CBA announcements and an interesting debate on whether peer review is fair or not and setting.
I am impresssed though that any sensible emails are lost in basically a spat between a few people...
there are intersting posts in there... but if you have to wade through post after post of things like this
"This is primarily an archaeology list, not a collectors' one. There is a crucial difference." N Swift
a swift check of posters actually shows up a worrying lack of practicing (and by that I mean people who step outside to actually perform archaeology) archaeologists. with some notable exceptions.
I think it is sad that a once useful resource is so subverted.... and all the 'good' info is swamped.
Setting, Papers, Course info, Magazines etc... and this piece which soon went missing
Crickly Hill reunion... : PLUG PLUG - http://chreunion2009.blogspot.com
Bring back BRITARCH - ditch the one shot pony hijackers
"I don't have an archaeological imagination.."
