All finished for the weekend at Fort Cumberland. We got over 1600 people over the two days, with most coming on the Sunday as usual. The mock excavation was particularly popular, with over 300 little angels trying their hand at a spot of digging today. Absolutely cream crackered! The weather stayed fine, except for our party last night when it pished it down.
Mr Hostie - you'd be welcome to visit FC any time you're in the neighbourhood. Pevsner called it 'perhaps the finest piece of 18th-century defensive architecture in England', which means it's not quite as good as Fort George. Any BAJR readers who want to see it can come along on Heritage Open Days in September - book early to avoid disappointment!
