I looked into this a while back cos' like everyone else I guess I have a load of slides and thought they would be better if made digital. I discovered a firm who would do the work for about 50p per slide (so was looking at an investment of circa £500 plus postage and packing, which rather put me off.
However I then looked at getting a scanner and doing it myself and discovered that Hewlett Packard do a scanner with special slide adaptor and very high resolution results for about £200 quid. So that would seem to be a cheaper option if one has the time and patience. But having done it, what further use would I have for the scanner.....
At present (and I guess also like many other folk with big slide collections) I am thinking about which option might be the better choice.....
