Golly I'm amazed at this outpouring of Milesism! Anyone fancy starting a Miles Davis Archaeological appreciation club?
Wearing your best MP3 player (and in no particular order):
The very best Miles track for hacking along with if you want a very deep but mindless kind of hole, is the opening track of 'Tutu'.
Compiling a matrix: All 4 sides of 'Bitches Brew'.
Back of the van to and from site: 'Sketches of Spain'
Front of the van if you are driving and control the CD/tape player: 'Jack Johnson'
Waiting for the rain to stop: 'Birth of the Cool'
Working in the rain: Anything with Miles and Coltrane
If it's a very long day in the rain: intersperse Miles and Coltrane with occasional Mingus ('Goodbye Pork Pie Hat', 'oh yeah')

I think the local church ran out.. it wasn't too loud really with the double glazing the only major annoyance being people parking on the pavement outside my house - you'd be amazed at the number of 17-18 year olds that were going (they looked normal too) - I was expecting lots of ageing rockers with questionable dress sense and a penchant for flowery blouses
