So, back on topic.
Is it that a forum is a conversation whilst an email list isn't? :face-huh:
I don't subscribe to any other email lists, so I don't know.

Regarding the content of Britarch's discussion lists I did use it some time ago and it was great, someone even photocopied an article and put it in the post for me. Looking at it now it appears to have been taken over by, for want of a better word, nutters.
And as for Britarch being academic and presumably, by extension, BAJR not, with such complicated and lyrical language being used on the BAJR forum at the moment (I'm not even sure how to pronounce 'obfiscation' never mind what it means) it's like being in the presence of Oscar Wilde - 'lobbing intellectual handgrenades from their entrenched positions', indeed!

One of the disadvantages with BRITARCH is that I occasionally get replies to emails before I get the original email, which makes the whole thing very convoluted - you end up getting the answer before the question!

I hope my position isn't entrenched! But I promise to not use big words too much! ;o)
Oh and to enlighten you:
obfuscation: verb: 1. To make so confused or opaque as to be difficult to perceive or understand;
2. To render indistinct or dim; darken.
(OK maybe a bit ironic that I used a word that is fairly obscure to complain about people making things hard to understand - you might have a fair point there then. Doh!)

That was obviously my point entirely, erm, probably. Obfuscation is such an appropriate word given its meaning it's almost onomatopoeic (try getting those two into one sentance! Should get some sort of Scrabble meaga bonus!)

You're not doing an evaluation today then? [:o)]
Dang it, I didn't actually use histrionic and now I wish I had! (I did use concatenation the other day, that any good? [8D])

Luciferous Logolepsy seems to be the direction of this thread... (can I post on Britarch now)
And nobody please mention Banjo Enclosures... unless in reference to the film Deliverance!

Yes, I always wondered about whether there were also ukelele enclosures.......
In the meantime, clearly BAJR is the paradigm for erudition and we can use Britarch for agnoiology perhaps?
And now my brain hurts..... [xx(]
