CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: The Council for British Research in the Levant is seeking to appoint a British Institute Scholar to be based in Amman, Jordan.
The CBRL conducts research in the subject areas supported by the British Academy in the countries of the Levant. It is expected that the successful candidate will recently have completed a Master?s or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline in the humanities or social sciences and will be seeking to develop active research interests in the region. The Scholarship includes language training, research and assisting the British Institute in Amman with its projects and activities.
The scholarship is tenable for one year, with a start date of 1 October 2010 until 30 September 2011.
The British Institute Scholar will receive free accommodation, a subsistence allowance and a return flight from the UK to Amman, as well as other benefits.
