Gosh that was a mouthful just typing it! Hello BAJR peeps and a belated happy new year to you all. I'm posting an update to this event as a new thread as the original one seems to have been attacked and eaten by Christmas Gremlins!
On the 23rd January 2013 - so in about two weeks time ... the University of Bradford is hosting an Employment/Graduate Event. All are welcome from students about to graduate to students who would like a chance to chat to people such as the main BAJR man himself down to York Archaeological Trust as well as students who are looking for some more experience in archaeology.
THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR ATTENDING!!!! There nice and bold and clear for you all to see, so if you could help me spread the word around ... students from other universities are welcome.
So far we have got the following speakers:
BAJR
Rob Janaway from the University of Bradford discussing Forensic Archaeology.
Pete Connelly from York Archaeological Trust.
There will also be speakers for Environmental Science peeps as well - though I haven't been involved in this side of the event and so cannot give details as to who there is - very sorry. When I do have this information I'll let you all know.
At present we have a rough schedule and things look to be starting about 2pm - once the schedule has been confirmed I'll post a copy on here.
As well as speakers we have claimed the student common room for the afternoon where in you shall find the following stands:
Past Horizons
Grampus - leaflets only but still plenty of useful information for people looking for more experience.
A laptop which will hopefully display useful web links for students to look over, take details from and so forth.
Museum Association - Again this is leaflet information but still good information.
We will be encouraging speakers to mull around in the common room so that people can speak with them and get other information.
There will be refreshments provided by the student body and these do carry a small charge - but might I say they do a good cup of tea!
So there you have it ladies and gentlemen ... 23rd January 2013 University of Bradford. If anyone has any questions please do ask, I can also give directions and other location information.
If there are any other associations or companies that would like a stand then please please feel free to ... there is plenty of room in the common room and I would encourage anyone who wishes to attend to do so. Just let me know before the 21st January so I can put you down on the map ... thank you!
