I an looking for early examples of the use of the word Football as in Football Pasture or Football Close. I think that I have an 1793 example- any earlier?

After a quick look, Football Close in Baldock, Herts appears on the 1852 Tithe map and could concievably be earlier if you can find any cartographic or business directory evidence. A possibility if you have the time...

There is a terraced street in Yeadon, West Yorkshire just called 'Football'. Built after 1851, but it is supposed to be on the area of former town moor where the villages traditional annual game of 'football' (local variant) used to be played. Instead of a street-name plaque, the street has a mural of a ball covering the whole of one gable wall.
