Afternoon all!
I need a CSCS card for a job but I'm not sure how to go about it. I've not yet graduated and I'm not a member of CIfA. Can I still get the CRO card now then upgrade when I graduate?
Many thanks

Simple answer would be, yes but you are going to end up paying for a card that will be redundant in 6 months, that realistically your employer should be paying for as it is a requirement of the job. OR at the least - help you get one. Joining CIfA - even as a Student Member will get you access to this ;

Unless you've got a chunk of commercial experience beforehand and are doing a degree as a break from digging then I hope the company would put you on a CIfA approved training scheme. and/or have a Skills Passport (

Maybe a tad optimistic there on the last point on training schemes ... we're already supporting non-CIfA graduates to AQP cards through the Manager & Professional H&S Test. A non-graduate non-CIfA corporate member would be deployed to non-cscs carded sites (few and far between).

Fair enough there... it is a pipe dream
nothing like looking to the future.
But your solution is commendable...
