Despite the bad news of units going under, there are a few digging jobs filtering through .... at last..... is there hope and optimism out there ???

Redundant since March. One small contract in May. Nothing since, despite sending cv to various units. Also looking elsewhere but prospective employers don't think my skills are 'relevant' to them.

Other proffessions are likely to have a pool of people they can call upon who are already qualified and have experience that is needed to get them the jobs, that is, they just take back on the folks they have laid off due to the recession.

Damn the AUP - there is so much that could be said on this in relation to archaeology's commercial sector.
