World Cup fever

I have just been discussing time management issues for the next month.

For the last world cup one firm put up a 40'x20' screen in the office so all the matches could be watched by staff. A meal was also laid on for everybody.

Very cost effective.

The matches started at 7:30 AM and thus by 9:00 everybody was in work, had breakfast were all "pumped up" and raring to go.

The Council's Staff Club next door shows matches on a big screen. We work flexible hours so if we want to watch a game, we can sign out for a couple of hours and then come back again. Um, if we're not too drunk that is.

A man has great seats for the World Cup Final.

As he sits down, another man comes down and asks if anyone is sitting
in the empty seat next to him.

"No," he says. "The seat is empty."

"This is incredible!" says the other man. "Who in their right mind
would have a seat like this for the World Cup Final, the biggest sporting
event, and not use it?"

"Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. My wife was supposed to come
with me, but she passed away. This is the first World Cup Final we haven't
been to together since we got married."

"Oh... I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible. But couldn't you find
someone else, a friend or relative, or even a neighbour to take the
seat?"

The man shakes his head. "No. They're all at the funeral."

My firm are being ok letting us go early for the nation you support, unfortunaly Cyprus have yet to ever qualify, but get to go early for England.

Orky-thats as maybe but- Cyprus beat Turkey twice and I was sat in the village tavernas drooling on both occasions-who cares about the world cup-that meant the world to me and I detest football!
