The Time Team Guide.... |

Festive Greetings to one and all!
I had the misfortune of being blessed by a well meaning relation with the gift of The Time Team Guide to the archaeological sites of Britain and Ireland. Great!!! (sic)
Has anyone else either been given well meant but un-wanted archaeological presents? Opportunity for a swap shop here...
Anyway, has anyone got this one? If so, take a look at the entry for Stanwick, Northants...apparently the centre of activity for the Brigantes, developing into a massively defended hillfort against the Romans and led by Venutius against his Roman-siding wife Cartimandua...blah blah...
Er...did I miss something out here...?
I know of the villa complex at Stanwick, Oxon, a Neolithic / Bronze Age site/landscape on Northants, and a massive fortification and supposed centre of the Brigantes in North Yorkshire...who writes these books? Can I have a go?

Winter holiday H&S |

Our boss sends us a newsletter every so often. I thought I would share his thoughts on H&S for the winter holiday, just to show that not all bosses hate H&S:
"I also hope that you remember that this is a particularly dangerous time of year where we live, drive, and play. A telling indication of how well we?re doing in our safety program is whether our people take safety home with them, and this stretch on the calendar really puts that to the test. Let?s all make an extra effort to keep ourselves and our families safe.
For those who like to ring in the New Year out on the town or at a party, be mindful that not everyone is at their best behind the wheel after midnight. And it?s not just drinking that makes the roads dangerous during the holidays; people tend to be in a hurry and less courteous, so stay vigilant. For those who celebrate with things like trees, lights, and candles that add to the season, remember they can also present hazards. Be sure to keep your tree watered, and turn off your lights and extinguish your candles before you turn in for the night. Every year we hear about families who are devastated by fires, and we certainly don?t want this to happen to any of us. If you go skating, skiing, or surfing, be sure to dress appropriately, stretch, and not push yourself beyond your limits. We want to see everyone return after the holidays healthy, happy, and ready to get back to work."
Cheers,
Eggbasket

Ok, I know that BAJR has always provided a free service but,
How many of us would still use it if we had to pay a small subscription?
I certainly would.
It can't be right that Mr hosty funds all this himself and just relies on donations can it?
